I know all families are different but I’m curious, did your family dress up for Thanksgiving dinner or was it okay to go to the table casually dressed? Growing up we weren’t expected to be in our Sunday best but we’d never dream of showing up to the dinner table in sweats. My mom worked all day in the kitchen cooking and felt it was a sign of respect to dress nicely before sitting down together. That being said, this is my Thanksgiving look. It’s comfortable without being sloppy, hopefully my mom would approve!
I love Thanksgiving and have so much I’m grateful for. Thank you so much for reading, I hope you have a great Thanksgiving week!
Can you believe that Thanksgiving is this week?!? Today I’m sharing a dressed up look that goes perfectly with this season. I love pencil skirts and J Crew is definitely my favorite place to buy them, I had one in every color!
I’ll be sharing some Thanksgiving outfit ideas this week on the blog, be sure to check back. Hope you all have a great week!
Today I’m sharing the perfect gift to take along with you when you’ve been invited for dinner. I don’t drink alcohol so taking wine is not my thing, flowers on the other hand are everyone’s thing! I picked up these flowers from the grocery store but can’t give them with the bright plastic wrapper on it so here’s what I did….
Start with your flowers, butcher paper, bakers twine, and scissors
Cut a square of butcher paper, place your flowers in, and wrap them up…
Wrap your bakers twine (or ribbon) around a few times and tie in a bow. And there you have it! A cute little bunch of flowers that look twice as nice as store-bought!
I’ll be sharing a few other gifts I love to give next month, neighbor gifts, friend gifts, you get the picture. Thanks so much for readying, I hope you have a great weekend!
If this wish list doesn’t scream FALL I don’t know what does. I’m obsessed with all of it! Confession…. I’ve never tried over the knee boots. The style I’ve liked are usually flats and I just don’t think my legs are long and lean enough for that but these boots have a wedge which I love (wedges are always comfortable and with the extra height lengthens the leg) so I’m thinking I need to give these a try. Loving all these warm colors, hoping I can add some of these pieces to my closet!
Thanks so much for stopping by and reading. Hope you have a great week and don’t forget to check back tomorrow for my hostess gift idea!
I’m sharing classic go-to outfit that’ll keep you warm on a chilly fall day. I don’t think I realized it until I started linking each piece of clothing to my site but I’m wearing a lot of Gap clothes today. I love, love, love the Gap! I think they’ve got some great affordable pieces that are flattering to so many different body types. Plus they’re one of the only places to shop in Auburn so when I’m in need of a little retail therapy and want to be in the store that’s where I tend to go, unless I have time to head into Atlanta which needs to happen soon!
What’s your go-to store for retail therapy? And how do I talk Nordstrom into building a store in Auburn???
Thanks for stopping by, hope you’re having a great week!
This outfit is inspired by my son Billy, he’s obsessed with everything Military. He’d dress head to toe camo if I let him, thank goodness I still have a say when it comes to what he wears to school (after school is another story). When I saw this t-shirt at Target it made me think of him and I had to get it. I added a cute cardigan and a statement necklace to glam it up a bit. And can we talk about these booties? I saw these on the Nine West website and had to have them, I’m obsessed!
Be sure to check back later this week, I’m going to start sharing little gifts I give and this week it’s what I give the hostess when invited for dinner (hint… I don’t drink so it’s not wine). Thanks for stopping by, hope you have a great week!
A cold front has moved in and all I want to do is bundle up and drink hot cocoa all day. A blanket scarf is the perfect solution to colder weather. I was so obsessed with this scarf last year and I still can’t get enough of it! It’s so warm and soft, I think I’ll be wearing this all season.
There are so many cute blanket scarves I’ve been eyeing, if you need something warm check out my favorites below. Thanks for stopping by!
Every November right after we have family prayer we sit in a circle and share a few things we’re thankful for. I don’t know why we only do it in November, it should be year round because there is too much to say in just one short month. Last year I decided I wanted to list a few things we’ve said so we can see it and be reminded of it throughout the month. I found something similar to our “GRATEFUL” board on Pinterest and then came up with what we do now.
One thing we’re so thankful for is this beautiful country we live in and the brave men and women that protect it. Over the weekend Joel and I went to the Auburn football game and although we lost we were happy to be there for Military Appreciation Day. I can’t help but feel so much pride for our country and gratitude towards the men and women that fight for our freedom.
