With school starting in less than three weeks we’re busy buying supplies and doing our back to school shopping.  One thing I’ve always loved about the Nordstrom Anniversary sale is it’s timing, they do it at the same time every year just before school starts.  I need to buy new clothes for my kids to start the year off and it doesn’t hurt that the cutest clothes are on sale!  Here are a few of the items Elle and Billy picked out.  If you missed my favorites for women you can see it here.

Banana Bread

With all the delicious fruit in season our bananas haven’t been getting eaten as often which means we get to bake one of my favorite breads… Banana Bread!  I’ve tried so many different banana bread recipes over the years and have kind of mixed up my favorites into my own version.  Hope you’ll give it a try and enjoy it as much as we do.

Ingredients:

Nonstick Vegetable Oil Cooking Spray
1 1/3 Cup all-purpose flour
1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
3/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
3 large eggs
1 1/2 Cups sugar
2-3 mashed bananas
3/4 Cup coconut oil
1 teaspoon vanilla

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.  Coat loaf pan with nonstick spray.
Whist flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon in a medium bowl.
Mix eggs, sugar, bananas, oil, and vanilla until smooth.
Add dry ingredients to banana mixture, mix until combined.
Pour batter into prepared pan and smooth the top.

Bake 60-70 minutes, let bread cool in pan for about 15 minutes.
Cut, butter and enjoy!

Stripes

I’ve had such an obsession with stripes lately.  Just about every stripe I see I want to buy.  This top was no exception, especially with it being on sale.  It’s so light and summery, it’s perfect!  I think it’s going to be on major repeat for me!

It’s the best time of the year… It’s the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale!!!  I have a strong connection to Nordstrom, it’s my all time favorite place to shop and this is their best sale of the year.  I have so many great memories shopping there with my mom, working there when I was first married and while I was pregnant with Elle, working sales after she was born, and of course shopping with Elle at Nordstrom.  I could go on and on but I’ll just get to the good stuff….  These are some favorite items from the sale.  Happy shopping, hope you find something you love.

Neon

Monograms

Now that I live in the South there’s something I’ve got to incorporate into my wardrobe… MONOGRAMS!!!  I’m obsessed!  I want to monogram everything!  Joel doesn’t understand this obsession of mine but I don’t care, at least Elle’s on board.  This clutch is my first monogramed purchase and I’m loving it!  Gigi New York is having an amazing sale right now, 50% off site wide (including clearance) with free shipping and free personalization.  I can’t wait to add more monogramed pieces to my closet.  What do you think about monograms?  Are there any trends/looks you’re obsessed with?

Red + White + Blue
